Five Simple Rules
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
- Free your heart from hatred.
- Free your mind from worries.
- Live simply.
- Give more.
- Expect less.
No one can go back and make a brand new start.
Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears and light for the way.
One Day at a Time
One Day at a Time
The secret to life is living it one day at a time.
Our lives are made up of a million moments spent in a million different ways. Some are spent searching for love, peace and harmony. Others are spent surviving day to day. But there is no greater moment than when we find that life, with all its joys and sorrows, is meant to be lived one day at a time.
It is in this knowledge that we discover the most wonderful truth of all. Whether we live in a forty-room mansion, surrounded by servants and wealth, or find it a struggle to manage from month to month, we have the power to be fully satisfied and live a life with true meaning.
One day at a time, we have that ability through cherishing each moment and rejoicing in each dream. We can experience each day anew, and with this fresh start we have what it takes to make all of our dreams come true.
Each day is new, and living one day at a time enables us to truly enjoy life and live it to the fullest.

Beginning Today
Beginning Today
Beginning today I will no longer worry about yesterday. It is in the past and the past will not change. Yet I can change by choosing to do so.
Beginning today I will no longer worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will always be there waiting for me to make the most of it.
Beginning today I will look in the mirror, and I will see a person worthy of my respect and admiration. This capable person looking back at me is someone I enjoy spending time with and someone I would like to get to know better.
Beginning today I will cherish each moment of my life. I value this gift and unselfishly share it to enhance the lives of others.
Beginning today I will take a moment to step off the beaten path to revel in the mysteries I encounter. I will face challenges with courage and determination. I will overcome barriers that hinder my growth.
Beginning today I will take life one day at a time, one step at a time. Discouragement will not taint my positive self-image, my desire to succeed, or my capacity to love.
Eight Gifts
Eight Gifts That Cost Nothing to Share
- LISTENING... But you must REALLY listen. No interrupting, no daydreaming, no planning your response. Just listening.
- AFFECTION... Be generous with appropriate hugs, kisses, pats on the back and handholds. Let these small actions demonstrate the love you have for family and friends.
- LAUGHTER... Clip cartoons. Share articles and funny stories. Your gift will say, "I love to laugh with you."
- A WRITTEN NOTE... It can be a simple "Thanks for the help" note or a full sonnet. A brief, handwritten note may be remembered for a lifetime, and may even change a life.
- A COMPLIMENT... A simple and sincere, "You look great in red" "You did a super job" or "That was a wonderful meal" can make someone's day.
- A FAVOR... Whenever there is the chance, share a small random act of kindness.
- SOLITUDE... There are times when we want nothing better than to be left alone. Be sensitive to those times, and give the gift of solitude to others.
- A CHEERFUL DISPOSITION... The easiest way to feel good is to extend a kind word to someone. It's as easy as saying hello or thank you.

Slow Dance
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask, "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say, "Hi"
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift ...
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
