Transcending Thought

All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Hello. I've noticed that few are even mentioning the deafening silence concerning Al Sharpton, and other progressive candidacies, or third party efforts, afforded them by the multi-media conspiracy. "We" must not forget that dempublicans are the facilitators for the remocrats and the whole republican conspiracy; without them "we" would have elected third party candidates decades ago; their being down with the devolution of the people was the necessary building block of the current blitzkrieg. So, the dempublicans sicked the corporate structure's dogs, the remocrats, on us, are "we" going to run to "them" for protection now; or finally vote for the only real change available, like Sharpton, Nader, Laduke, Cobb, etc.? Did anyone notice how the supposed independents and remocrats all voted for Edwards to get Dean out of the race in the Wisconsin primary? Has anyone heard of unity of direction? Certainly, we see that the remocrats have.

** The Value of a Thought **

Do you have a desire to become wealthy? OK !Then let's play a little 'mental monopoly game' to set an imaginary value on your mental process.

Let's suppose that for every thought you have, you either gain or lose a dollar. Assuming you have one thought a minute, every hour would then offer a potential $60 gain -- or a $60 loss.

Are you SURE you're who you think you are?

How you label yourself and how you describe yourself can have a profound effect on the way you live in this world.

Do you see yourself, first and foremost, as your work. Are you an accountant, a builder, unemployed, a receptionist, a CEO?

Do you see yourself according to personality characteristics. Are you someone who is shy, outgoing, self-confident, negative, hard-working?

Many of these labels were picked up in childhood. Most are externally defined. That is, we think we are something because there is a culturally defined word that describes what we do or how we feel or act.

We take on many of these labels unconsciously, without questioning whether or not they truly apply to us or even is we want them to. Then, as a result of who we think we are, we act in certain ways, stay in certain jobs, limit ourselves to doing and being who we think we are. Never questioning whether or not this is still true, or whether or not it ever was. By doing so we close off thousands of opportunities to experience life from a different perspective and do or be different things.

The reverse side of this can be just as confining. Sometimes there are aspects of ourselves that we have made a part of our identity and that, if we stop to think about it, we'd like to keep but that we no longer live up to.

~~~
A number of years ago, in my New Age seeking days, I met Roland on a spiritual retreat in Egypt. This was his first time abroad whilst I have visited a number of countries and had lived in a couple of them.
Later I embarked on a year long, round-the-world trip and my identity as a 'traveller' became a key part of who I thought I was.
Then, a year or so ago, I found myself walking along the prom with Roland who'd was visiting me on his return to the USA after a trip to South Africa. This was just one of numerous trips that he had taken in the intervening years whilst I had not left England, other than on family holidays. It suddenly
struck me - in my mind I was still a traveller but my actions no longer reflected this aspect of who I thought I was.
This was important because travel always comes up when I answer such questions as:
"What would you like more of in your life?"
"What would you do if you had more time/money?"
"If you died tomorrow what would you most regret?" etc. etc.
Here I was, saying that travel was extremely important to me, that being a traveller is part of who I am but I wasn't acting from that. Why not I wondered?
For years I'd told myself that I simply couldn't go off travelling because I had a young child. Later it was because I couldn't afford it. But at the time of the walk on the prom this simply wasn't true (if it ever really was). So I decided to test this idea of who I thought I was and see if it still fitted and, more importantly, whether or not I wanted it to.
~~~

I took my son, Prentice, to Venice - just for 5 days but staying in back-packing accommodation and making the rest up as we went along.

As soon as I booked the flights I went into a complete panic.

I was then able to see that a major reason I hadn't done this for so long was because I was out of practice and I was scared

- really scared.

We went anyway and had a wonderful time and that little trip turned into a dress rehearsal for a much bigger one.

I've just returned from 4 fabulous weeks in Nepal.

If I was scared before I went to Venice I was terrified before I went to Nepal. But I'm so, so glad I've reconnected with the traveller in me. It is most definately an image of myself I want to keep and to continue to act upon. I love it!!

~~~
So, who is it you think YOU are? Are you sure?
Are you acting from labels and descriptions you no longer want?
Choose some new ones and see what happens as a result?
Are you telling yourself you're a certain way but not acting according to that? What do you need to do to reconnect with that part of yourself or to let it go if you no longer want it?
~~~

Have fun investigating who you think you are and who you might like to be.

Remember, you get to choose!

Until the next time . . .

Give Bad Habits the Boot!

by Chris Widener

Everybody has bad habits. Everybody. Now granted, some people have less than others and some people's bad habits are more grating than those of others, but we all have them. What is great is that we don't have to! Imagine a life where you couldn't change? What kind of life would that be? But we can, so let's!

There are two kinds of bad habits: Those you know you have that others may or may not know about, and those you don't know you have but everybody else knows you have!

Harness Your Mind to Create Prosperity

+++Our Overlapping Worlds+++

We now know beyond a doubt that everything in the known universe -- from the 'physical' world, to our innermost thoughts -- is basically energy in motion.

Actually our inner 'mental' reality and the world's 'outer' reality are an intimately interwoven quantum event. We are participants in an open and dynamic living universe. And we are actually living in two side-by-side overlapping worlds.

Sound strange?

Perhaps. But if you view your thoughts and memories as "energy sources" that exchange energy back and forth with the "external" physical world you're right in line with modern quantum physics and neuroscience.

Several years ago I had an experience walking on fire. The first time across the red-hot 15-foot bed of oak coals, a fist-sized piece stuck to the side of my foot. I knocked it off and rejoined the line. And interestingly, although the coal had "branded" itself into the side of my foot, I had NO burns at the end of the experience.Do you still doubt the impact of our mental energy on the physical world?

+++How We Create Our Reality+++

Today's PET scans let us "see" the brain actively change and grow with each thought. The power of a thought can no longer be excused lightly as a metaphysical theory.

Each image of the "outside world" forms and changes your brain on a physical level. From these images our minds then construct what we call "reality."

For example:

Your eyes don't really "see" anything, They simply collect packets of light reflected off an object. Those packets of light are transmitted into your brain as electronic signals. According to your past experiences, your brain then interprets the signals and tells you what you are "seeing."

"So how does all of this tie in to creating prosperity?" you ask.

According to science, the "real world" is made up of nothing more than vibrating energy. We now know that each person creates their own version of the world based on their beliefs, expectations, and personal history.

So your personal "prosperity" is determined by what you imagine, visualize, desire OR fear and reject.

+++Enter the Mind+++

Viewed in terms of neuroscience, prosperity is a "mental concept" in our physical brain. The mental concept of prosperity lives in the conscious rational portion of your brain. I'm sure you can give an accurate definition of the word "prosperity" without becoming emotionally involved.

But if I ask you, "What does prosperity mean to YOU personally," everything suddenly changes.

In a millisecond your subconscious mind briefly revisits your 2rd grade best friend comparing their family's new Cadillac to your family's Ford; or perhaps when you wanted a new bike, but were told to "be realistic" about your family's financial status. Or being told you would never be truly prosperous' without becoming a doctor or lawyer.

Where does this happen? Deep in your subconscious mind. And unfortunately, the subconscious mind does not respond to logical reasoning about how those old lessons no longer apply.

Does YOUR lifestyle fall short of your dreams?

If so, you can be sure your subconscious mind is the source of what's holding you back!

And the problem is, each time you "revisit" one of those subconscious limiting thoughts, the neural tracts leading to it are physically strengthened!

This is NOT theory. This is hard, observable science!

There is only one way to overcome the subconscious "stuff" that keeps you from creating your ideal lifestyle. You're going to have to reprogram your neurons (your brain cells) on a physical level.

It there some fast and easy way to do this?

Nope! Let's face it, if it was, everyone would be living the life of their dreams.

But it IS achievable!

+++Your Brain is Either Shrinking or Growing+++

We now know that the brain is not the unchanging oran we once thought it was. It is actually "plastic," and physically changes with each thought or memory.

When you think, perceive, remember or learn something -- chemical messengers are sent from one neuron (brain cell) to another. And if you think that "something" frequently, or with intense emotion, the associated neural physically grows in strength.

If you cease to think or recall something (like a bad memory), the associated neural pathway begins to physically breakdown and will eventually even become non-functional. Of course if that bad memory has attached intense emotions, it will take longer.

But there's something very important to be learned from that! Neuroscientists have found clear evidence that emotion strengthens the neural pathway holding any memory or thought.

Emotion can be a powerful ally in reprogramming

your mind!

+++Harnessing the Power of Focused Thought+++

Harnessing the forces of your mind to create your ideal lifestyle can be a truly exhilarating experience. So, assuming you've decided you truly want to create the lifestyle you long for, let's lay out a practice run:

* It all starts with a decision. That only takes a milli-second of time.

* Then you take a dramatic step (this one is life-changing). ou get real with yourself and ask questions like: "What IS prosperity to ME? Is it a financial state, or does it haveless to do with money and more with free time? What am I willing to give up to create a 'prosperous' lifestyle? How ill this look on a day-to-day basis? What do I have to change to achieve this?"

* Next you make a commitment to do whatever it takes.

The more intense your emotional commitment to create what you want, the faster you'll get it! That's why it's so important to go after what you feel passionate about!

* Finally, harness the power of focused thought to begin to reprogram your neurons. Here's an easy method ofgetting started:

Every morning get a 3x5 card and write a brief statement of your most important dream. Then on the other side list

one *specific* thing you will do TODAY to move closer to your dream. This must be real, specific, and achievable oday! Put the card in your pocket or purse, and DO that pecific thing by the end of the day.

In only one month you'll be astonished at how your life has changed!
